Dos and Don'ts of Growing Thicker and Fuller Beards | Biotopic

Thinking of changing your look by growing a beard? Growing or maintaining beards isn’t easy for everyone but with the right knowledge and tools, you are on your way to having a perfectly grown, well-trimmed beard. Below are a few tips to help you.

Limit touching your beards all the time

It is important that you make efforts to keep your hands off your beards. The more frequently your hands are there, the more damage that occurs. If you are the type that picks at acne or scabs or plucks at your beards occasionally, this could lead to unhealthy facial skin and cause unnatural beard patchiness. Keeping your hands off your beards might seem a little difficult if this is something you are used to but making conscious efforts overtime would yield good results.

Keep it Clean

To keep your beard clean, you need a good beard and face care regimen. Do you know dead skin cells and bacteria can be found on your face if you lack a proper cleaning routine? Cleaning your face cannot be overemphasized, wash daily with a beard shampoo that gently cleanses your pores whilst restoring moisture to your skin. After washing or cleansing, apply a beard serum like biotopic healthy beard growthfor a fuller, thicker looking beard or facial hair. This product is recommended as it causes no irritation and has no adverse effect.

Have a Beard Grooming Kit

It is advisable to invest in a beard grooming kit for a healthy beard. Most men make the mistake of using their hair and scalp products on their beard, these products can clog your pores and cause breakouts. Get a clipper with a range of heads that ensures an even trim, get scissors, a comb, and for those with long beards, get a boar bristle brush. Most importantly, know what works for you and stick with it.

Care for your Moustache too

It is easy to forget there is a soup stainer that needs care when you are so focused on beard shape and neatness. A good mustache takes time to grow so be easy on the trim and do not trim your mustache heavily. If you want better control, trim slightly with a pair of scissors. Get some quality mustache wax to train your mustache in order to keep it out of your mouth. Figure out the most comfortable way to keep food or foreign substances out of your mustache otherwise, you’d find multiple hairs falling off as a result of frequent unnecessary cleaning.

Track Your Progress

The essence of tracking your progress is to see that your efforts are actually paying off. You can measure with a selfie monthly for best results. Understand your beard growth pattern and see if different seasons have an effect on your growth as this knowledge would save you from worrying when it seems like it’s not growing during those periods.

Dedicate time and resources to growing and caring for your beards and you will be glad you did.
